North America adds rigs for 3 straight weeks
North America added 16 rigs week on week, according to Baker Hughes’ latest North America rotary rig count, which was published on July 31.
The total U.S. rig count rose by one week on week and the total Canada rig count rose by 15 during the same period, taking the total North America rig count up to 807, comprising 588 rigs from the U.S. and 219 rigs from Canada, the count outlined.
The total U.S. rig count of 588 comprised 572 land rigs, 13 offshore rigs, and three inland water rigs, according to the count, which revealed that the total U.S. rig count is made up of 451 oil rigs, 127 gas rigs, and 10 miscellaneous rigs. The count also highlighted that the U.S. total comprises 523 horizontal rigs, 51 directional rigs, and 12 vertical rigs.
